Building Information

Phelps Hall is a co-ed residence hall with 80 rooms, housing 160 students. Phelps Hall is named after the Rev. Philip Phelps, Jr., Hope College鈥檚 first president.

Room Features

  • The average sized room is 12鈥�1 x 10鈥�11, Height: 9鈥�0
  • Beds can be bunked and/or lofted (bed safety rail provided)
  • Tiled floors
  • Window blinds
  • Closet - 39"x20", one shelf is 22" high, closet without the shelf is 85" high

Furniture Provided

  • Extra long twin beds (80" mattress). There is 31" of space under a half lofted bed
  • One free-standing dresser per student with three drawers each, 28" tall, will fit under unlofted beds. Inside of drawers 32"x19"
  • Desk - 42"x24"
  • Desk chairs

A dining hall, computer lab, laundry room and lounges are also found in Phelps Hall.
