Voorhees Hall is a co-ed residence hall that has 53 rooms and houses 114 students. It is named after Elizabeth Voorhees, who, with her husband, was a supportive donor in Hope’s early history. Originally completed in 1907, Voorhees was the first building to be lighted by electricity and was the first residence for women..

  • The average sized room is 11’5" x 12'
  • Beds can be bunked but not lofted (bed safety rail provided)
  • Carpeted floors

  • Shared closet - Roughly 6'w x 26"d.  The first 2 shelves are 3' wide, 11" tall. Top shelf is 16" tall; Closet without shelves is 5'6"

Furniture Provided

  • Extra long twin beds (80-inch mattress), 31" of space under bed half lofted
  • Two Dressers - Usually 3 drawers, 28" tall (will fit under unlofted beds), Inside drawers: 32"x19"
  • Desks - 36"x24"
  • Desk chairs
