Krista began working in the Boerigter Center for Calling and Career as an academic and career advisor in fall 2022.

Professional Experience
Initially an elementary educator, Krista worked in both private and public schools as a teacher for five years before studying at Xavier University and then joining the Calvin University staff for seven years, during which she taught in the English department, worked in academic success as an academic coach, co-directed First-Year Seminar, served on committees, and assessed programming and multi-section courses. At Hope, she advises and facilitates discernment journeys with students and alumni across many stages of life, and works on program development, grant writing and cross-divisional collaboration.

Why I Love Hope
As a student, Hope awakened a love of analysis and multidisciplinary learning in Krista that shaped her future decisions and career. She appreciates Hope's aspirational culture, forward-thinking colleagues and inquisitive students. She also loves our campus 鈥� beautiful trees and architecture that blend into our community.
Outside the College
Krista enjoys life with her spouse, Dan, and their two kids, Simeon and Eliana. Outside work, you may find her out on long, casual runs, training her cat to high-five, using power tools for small home projects, oil painting or hiking with her family.
